A shoe like the SuperComp Elite V6 needs to be judged differently from a daily trainer. It should feel quick and efficient, but it still has to hold your foot properly once the pace comes up.
The carbon-fibre plate and high-rebound foam can feel exciting straight away. That does not always mean the shoe is right for every runner. Some people will love the propulsive feel. Others may need something more forgiving for regular training before they move into a full race-day option.
Here at Smiths, we can help you check the fit through the heel, midfoot and toe-off without reducing the decision to the fastest-looking shoe on the shelf. GAIT analysis can also be useful if you are comparing racing shoes or stepping into plated footwear for the first time.
Bring in your current race shoes if you have them. It gives us a much better read on what you are used to, and whether the SuperComp Elite V6 feels like a natural upgrade.
